I help organizations create engaging, effective learning solutions that drive real-world results.
My background
Drawing on a multidisciplinary background that spans research, education, and global cross-functional teams, I bring over a decade of experience in curriculum design, training facilitation and program evaluation. I specialize in developing targeted, story-driven eLearning and blended solutions that help adults build skills, solve real-world problems, and drive meaningful change.
As an award-winning educator, I’ve designed and delivered in-person and online training programs, facilitated virtual instructor-led training (VILT) and interactive workshops, and presented at national and international conferences and webinars.
I’ve lived and worked in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and held roles in the postsecondary education, international consulting and non-profit sectors. This exposure to different communities and organizational settings has shaped my ability to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and design learning that resonates with diverse audiences.
Why Learning Experience Design (LXD)?
I’m deeply curious about how adults learn in real-world settings—and how thoughtful design can help people build skills, improve performance and create change.
Questions that drive my work:
How can we create learning that respects people’s time and expertise while helping them improve performance?
How can we get to the root of performance challenges through inquiry, action mapping and design thinking to identify clear objectives and effective, targeted solutions?
How can storytelling create deep learning experiences that foster lasting behavior change and solve organizational and performance problems?
My background in mixed-methods research, combined with a learner-centered mindset, helps me answer these questions through engaging, problem-focused learning solutions.
My Process
I use frameworks like action mapping, ADDIE, and SAM to get to the root of performance challenges and design experiences that are both engaging and effective. My approach is grounded in instructional design best practices, evidence-based decisionmaking and a passion for collaborating with stakeholders to find the right solution to their training needs.
-
I aim to understand the challenge and learn from people’s motivations, habits and environment, and collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to gather relevant insights.
-
In close collaboration with stakeholders, I identify possibilities for addressing the challenge, define the measure of success, map out learning goals and structure.
-
I draw from the SAM (Successive Approximation Model) approach to quickly build storyboards and interactive prototypes (“approximations” of the final solution). I then work closely with SMEs and other stakeholders to refine the prototype through multiple rounds of testing/feedback until we’re confident that the product will satisfy the training needs.
-
After implementing the learning experience, I gather feedback and measure outcomes to improve the learning experience.
Throughout this process, I use tools like Articulate Storyline 360, Rise, Vyond, Figma and Mindmap. I use data collection strategies such as interviews, focus groups, surveys, and analytics in platforms like Dedoose, Qualtrics and MS Forms to understand impact and drive continuous improvement.
When I’m not working…
You’ll find me experimenting with new recipes, tending to my little plot at the community garden, cuddling with my cats, or learning about textile arts and urban permaculture.
I’m passionate about lifelong learning, both in my personal life and in my work!
